We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries before 2020 and all 7 continents, we have no plans to slow down anytime soon, and we are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

That's why US has a lot of cases, because they don't take screening seriously

"We could have easily been, like, very sick and nobody would have known" aaaaaaand that's why the US is likely going to be the country with the most cases of COVID-19 by the time this is all over. I'm glad Kara and Nate made it home safely, but the way they weren't even screened upon arrival from out of the country is very disconcerting.

the way that they didn’t screen them when entering the US just shows how poorly the country is managing it

Well, technically Singapore is still one of the safest countries to be in because the government takes screening very seriously and our community cases hasn't spiked at all since the Circuit Breaker started. Dormitories on the other hand, the numbers are rising because the government is screening all foreign workers to make sure that they all get treated if they have covid-19 and treatment is free for everyone regardless of nationality. Up until 7th of march 2020, if you had covid 19 in Singapore, you wouldn't need medical insurance. The free medical treatment right now only applies to Singapore citizens, Singapore residents and long term pass holders. Having said all that, in times like this, it's always good to be back home, close to your family.

When I flew into Canada I had to prove I hadn't been to the United States in the last 2 months!

Watching this vlog somehow makes me emotional. I think it is mostly due to the contrast between the world just 5 months ago and the world we are all living in today. When will our lives get back to normal? Dear God I pray, please help us all.

I absolutely love how Kara is able to live in the moment! From seeing her niece for the first time to enjoying sushi in the lounge. It’s nice how she found moments to step outside of the current situation and allow for a little joy and gratitude.

I recently took a flight to China from Finland. The flight was more full of people, everyone was wearing protective gear from head till toes, we had to go through corona tests and fill in several health apps at the airport before the Chinese escorted us to the centralized quarantine hotel. I made a video of our experience, it differs quite a lot from your smooth travel. Happy that you reached your home without too much trouble! 😊👍

I'd leave some quarantine jokes but most of them are inside jokes
